A Three-Pronged Approach to Sustainability
Parsons follows a three-pronged approach to achieve our sustainability vision:
- We leverage our expertise so our customers will meet their sustainability goals, even when we are not directly involved in managing that aspect of a project. Our long history in project/construction management and design—covering a wide range of sectors—allows us to bring to reality our customers’ desires and expectations for success with their own sustainability goals. As highlighted by the projects in this report, we carry their concepts forward to fruition in efficient and innovative ways. In some cases, our role is to ensure that the project is carried out on time and within budget so that the project’s execution does not—in itself—undermine the intended sustainability-related gains in efficiencies.
- We provide direct sustainability products and services through our own project designs and implementation. Whether it is preparing a master plan for a sustainable community or leveraging our accredited professionals (APs)—including hundreds of Leadership in Environmental and Energy Design (LEED®) APs—to design a sustainable building, we apply our expertise to make a project as sustainable as possible.
- We implement effective sustainable practices in our operations and activities to manage our environmental, energy, and carbon intensity:
- –As a corporation, Parsons’ efforts reflect the successful stewardship of our resources.
- –We help our suppliers and subcontractors become more sustainable by contributing to their own efforts through their role in the Parsons supply chain.
